Fire...Bad!

As my good friend Frankenstein would say...."Fire....bad!" The SOCAL fires have been crazy. While most of the world waits for the day that California breaks off into the ocean, we are sitting in the smut of what once was a very picturesque scene here in Southern California. The fire is not an immediate threat to my neighborhood. However, we are under a voluntary evacuation. That is mostly due to the fact that the winds could change and bring it our direction. Though, at this time, that doesn't seem to be the likely scenario.

Our area is covered in a dense fog of smoke and ash. The air quality is horrible, and many of our church family have evacuated. Coming into the office this morning was very interesting. As I entered the building I could see smoke hovering at the ceiling and the place smelled like a fire-pit. The decision to close the offices for the remainder of the day has been made, and all events on campus for this evening have been cancelled. But, even as I write this, the smoke seems to be lifting a little outside and is already beginning to look better. Hopefully, this trend will continue and tomorrow will be a brand new day.

Please continue to lift all of the evacuees, firefighters, and families that have been effected by the fires in Southern California. If anything crazy happens, I'll let you know.
